January Concentration Pieces

Alright, so the picture quality is not all that great...but I hope you guys get em nonetheless.

It's graphite drawings on watercolor! My concentration is how people cope with anger and frustration.

  1. I really like the blue one for its cartoonish feel and because the red one seems a bit like the hand is too small in proportion to the face. The too work really well with the texture of the salt and the opaque color in the middle where the faces are (good job!). I think maybe the red one could have more shading as the blue. They are eally great! I like how the two contrast each other with the color and emotion.
On the point of your concentration: I think that they lack on how people "cope" with anger. Seeing that you can successfully create a piece (they look gnarly!) and how the two do portray about the same thing, I think you can bring in the idea of how people express anger (actions). I guess what I'm trying to say is: Now that we know how people feel when they are angry, what do they do because of it?

Interesting concentration and delightful pieces :-)

  2. The blus one looks like the girl from the grudge or something haha. But anyways, on the red one, the hand gesture looks kind of awkward. I seems like it is not all that attached to the face. And the face is a little stiff on the red one too. Otherwise, you did a good job on the blue piece.

  3. These pieces do a really good job in conveying that emotion: frustration. You know very well how to make each features of the face expressive so that nothing really looks out of place. Another thing i really like is you're making the mouths very simple and stylish in a sort of tekkonkinkreet way. One suggestion i have is to wash out either the background or foreground to further emphasize the different planes
